January 2008 - Appointment of Marcus Noakes as Geotechnical Manager
UTEC Survey announces the appointment of Marcus Noakes as Geotechnical Manager. He brings a wealth of marine geotechnical experience to UTEC Survey with a remit to grow and develop a high quality geotechnical capability within the company.
Marcus was instrumental in the growth of Gardline Geosciences Limited where, until recently, he was the General Manager. Prior to that, Marcus had a long spell with Alluvial Mining.
Marcus Noakes says “UTEC Survey is a fast growing dynamic company with great growth potential and I am looking forward to being able to use my experience to help achieve their geotechnical objectives”.
In line with the Company’s strategic growth plans, marine geotechnical services will be an integral part of the Company’s multi-disciplined survey capability, serving the marine industry world-wide from nearshore to deepwater.
October 2007 - Resignation of Richard Pender
Richard S. (Dick) Pender has resigned from UTEC Survey to pursue interests in technology development. Dick will retain his ownership in UTEC and will assist the company in its strategy and growth plans as required by the Board. We wish Dick all the best in his future endeavours.
UTEC Appoints New Directors and Officers and opens New Office In Houston
UTEC announces the appointment of Martin C O’Carroll as Director and CEO. Until recently O’Carroll was President of Canyon Offshore Inc, a company he co-founded in 1996 and prior to that was CFO at Sonsub International from 1988.
UTEC Survey Ltd, UTEC’s operating entity for Europe, West Africa and the Middle East has appointed Steven Lloyd and Richard Parkinson to its Board of Directors.
UTEC Survey Inc, UTEC’s operating entity in the Americas region, announces the appointment of Jan Garmulewicz as President and Director. Garmulewicz, formerly President of Geo Century Inc also held senior management positions at Fugro UDI, Halliburton Subsea, and Subsea Offshore prior to joining UTEC.
UTEC Survey Inc, has opened a new office at Suite 212, 10801 Hammerly Boulevard in Houston which will be the headquarters for its Americas operations.
Richard S Pender (Dick Pender), who founded UTEC and continues as Director and COO says “The company is focused on building a strong management team to deliver quality services to the offshore oil and gas industry worldwide and the opening of the Houston base is an exciting step in UTEC’s growth plans”.
September 2006 - UTEC responds to lack of personnel in the Offshore Survey Industry with dedicated training facilities and institution backed courses.
UTEC have prepared a dedicated suite to accommodate up to 12 candidates each
with integrated computing, video and audio stations. UTEC hope to make use
of its Quayside facility and near shore survey vessel, Josephine, to provide
practical course content in the near future. UTEC are currently running a
number of courses designed to address the current offshore industry-wide skills
shortage.
Newly appointed Director Martin O’Carroll and CEO says ‘‘We
are not only responding directly to our own internal training requirements
for our rapidly expanding trainee scheme but making the courses available
to other companies and individuals, particularly those who may have
left the sector in recent years .The coupling with eeegr (East
of England Energy Group) for direct access to ‘Towards
2010’ scheme funding, will financially assists companies
and individuals subscribing to courses based in the East of England’’
UTEC have already had significant interest in the 3 day Introduction to Offshore Surveying course from companies wishing for managers and offshore representatives to gain experience outside of their core disciplines.
February 2006 - UTEC Attracts Investment
UTEC Survey Ltd (UTEC) announce the acquisition of the assets of UTEC Services Ltd, the new structure will provide UTEC access to capital necessary to fund its growth plans. UTEC will maintain its HQ at its marine base in Lowestoft and its sales office in Aberdeen. A Houston office will be established in the immediate future.
Richard S Pender (Dick Pender), who joins the board of UTEC Survey says “The investment has been made in UTEC to take advantage of the growth in the offshore energy sector and the specialist services required. We are excited to join UTEC’s dynamic team and look forward to growing UTEC’s capability Globally” Dick will be responsible for directing the supply of resources and assistance to Richard Parkinson and Steven Lloyd, principles of UTEC to expand UTEC Survey’s operations and core capabilities.
UTEC Survey will continue to provide proven and innovative Geophysical, 2-D High Resolution, Hydrographic & Geotechnical solutions to its customers. These services will also be further promoted out of its Aberdeen and Houston offices.
Dick Pender Background: After a grounding in the offshore industry with DECCA and GSI , Dick founded NCS International in 1975, on selling NCS to Racal (now part of Fugro) in 1996 Dick left a Global Survey legacy. Recently Dick has been involved in companies specialising in Inertial Technologies, LiDar and controlled Nortech Geomatics a ‘turn key’ Geomatic & Hydrographic survey company servicing the Middle East, Dick’s home is Houston Texas.
