Hydrocarbon reserves are being developed today globally in the deep ocean with significant projections for the future. These frontier regions require specialist approaches to define the reservoirs and install the subsea infrastructures required to recover the hydrocarbons; in this arena, Geomatics plays a significant role. This involves specialist dimensional control work, Gyro calibrations, new use of long baseline wide-band acoustic technology and advanced methods of integrated USBL/INS and DVL technology. The UTEC Survey team has a solid history of introducing and using this technology for a variety of projects: spool piece metrology, drill support, structure attitude monitoring, pipe-lay support, industrial measurement and ROV intervention work.
